21. Keyholder at LUSH . Anthropology. Umass Boston. Vegan. A boy living his life to the fullest. :) Names Justin. Come see life with me.
But
In the Fall I am taking at least:
1) Forensic Anthropology (so much fucking excitement, especially since the professor and me are like bff’s after speaking once, it’s in the big arch lab, and she was trained as a bioarchaeologist, which is exactly what I want to do!
2) Theory in Sociocultural anthropology, this class is a major requirement but everyone in my lab class right now is taking it in the fall, and it’s with my favorite professor I have now every single semester haha, plus theory is always lovely for me.
3) Directed study with the professor I am going to Belize with, on whatever topic I want within the Maya and the dig. She is a ceramist so she thinks I should do a lab report and analysis of some of the pottery we will probably find.
I am super excited for these 3 at least, the directed study I won’t decided specifics for another couple weeks, I need a research plan first haha, pumped for the fall semester though!
This is awesome!
I love, love zodiac stuff, but I never pay close attention to what careers they say are good for me.
I am the definition of a Cancer so I go with pretty much most of what I read.
I have wanted to teach all my life, and I never knew what I wanted to teach until lately which will be Anthropology and Archaeology.
This makes me feel so much better about my life choices, I wish I was kidding.
Today:
Archaeology method and theory with lab, two time blocks this morning.
Excited and nervous! Hoping my knowledge of archaeology will suffice.
I am not to nervous though, I mean I have done a lot of my studies in Archaeology, just never in method or the scientific side.
Also glad, I am a now a couple classes deep in Biological Anthropology because it should help with this (minus the geoscience and chemistry, haha)
Aww well, still pumped! : D
First day so exciting!
I have:
A Biocultural Approach to Warfare
Primate Behavior
Peoples and Cultures of Mesoamerica
anddd
Rise and Fall of the Maya
So much excitement. My heart. :)
I did so much to get ready for the start of classes tomorrow!
I also worked!
My room is super clean and organized! :)
I did all my laundry, bought snacks and healthy food for lunches and snacks!
I am really excited for this semester.
5 Anthropology classes, 6 time blocks and lab.
What more could an aspiring Anthropologist ask for?
:)
I love you all, wish me luck!
Less than a week <3
So excited for classes to come back :)
6 books, 6 time blocks, 5 classes, 5 days a week.
Should be fun!
Yay! Anthropology!
I am taking 4 classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Four, 50 minute classes in a row from 10:00AM to 2:00PM.
I just lost my job and decided to stick with unemployment for this semester so I can focus on studies (aka get all A’s not one A, two B’s and C.) because work killed me the last semester.
I have so much free time now though I am considering a 5th class.
It is Archaeology Method and Theory with a Lab. So its 4 credits and its Tuesdays and Thursdays for two of the time blocks at my school from 9:30AM to 12:15PM.
I heard it is pretty difficult but I think it would be a good time to take it now.
The other anthropology 4 classes are: Peoples and Cultures of Mesoamerica, Rise and Fall of the Maya, Primate Behavior and A Biocultural approach to warfare.
Any thoughts guys? It would be great to get some more credits, since I am like done with my Gen eds and my major but still need to like 55 credits haha
So there is two classes, both count as a humanities and United States elective and would help me to be even closer to being done. Both are at the same time and it’s probably a good idea to just take one and get it out of the way. My options are:
AMST- 206 The Sixties (American Studies)
or
PHIL- 108 Moral and Social Problems (Philosophy)
The photos I took at the biological anthropology lab to look at hominins, so awesome!
Going to the Biological Anthropology lab tomorrow !
Going to examine and play with real and reconstructed remains of lots of different primates and hominins.
Most excited for: Tarsiers, lorises, austrapolithicus africanus and afarensis, homo habilis and homo Neanderthal.
Nerding out tomorrow :)
